Authorities from the Interior Minister have made some proposals, after realizing that the Highway code does not include chicanery or aggressive driving. Paul Gavriş is deputy chief of the Traffic Police.

Paul Gavriș: We have noted that it is necessary to intervene and make a series of proposals to introduce this aggressive behavior, that we could define in two maneuvers: certain chicanery while driving, using the optical system or the horn excessively to determine the other participants to move from the traffic lane, driving at a very small distance, in front of a car, behind it or on the side.
Also, among the proposals to change the Highway Code is doubling the period of license suspension from 60 days, at the present, to 120 days, for those who drive on the highway in the opposite direction.

The government approved supplementing the number of foreign workers that can be hired in Romania

The number agreed at the end of 2020 will be practically doubled and, therefore, 50.000 new workers can be admitted on the labor market. The decision has been taken following a rise in the requests for hiring visas, but also of the vacant jobs declared by the employers, says the Minister of Labor in a declaration. Data from ANOFM show that, compared to the first five months of last year – when approximately 156.000 jobs were vacant – in the same period of this year 160,000 jobs have been vacant, among which 30,000 repeatedly reported by the employers. According to data from the General Inspectorate for Immigration, in the first half of 2021 more than 17,000 hiring certificates have been released in sectors that cannot be covered by Romanian workers./aionita
