President Iohannis will pay an official visit to the Swiss Confederation

President Klaus Iohannis will pay an official visit to the Swiss Confederation on Thursday, at the invitation of his counterpart, Guy Parmelin, the Presidential Administration informed. The visit takes place within the constant high-level bilateral dialogue of recent years, as well as in the context of this year’s 110th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Romania and the Swiss Confederation. During the visit, the two heads of state will have political consultations. Among the topics on the agenda of the two presidents’ talks are the consolidation of the bilateral relationship, including economic cooperation, with an emphasis on investment, with Switzerland ranking 10th in the ranking of Romanian investors, as well as sectoral cooperation. A Canadian detachment begins its mission of Reinforced Air Police under NATO command in Romania

A detachment of the Royal Canadian Air Force, consisting of approximately 140 soldiers (pilots and technical personnel) and six Hornet aircraft, begins its NATO-led Reinforced Air Police mission in Romania, together with the Air Force. Romanian and the F-16 and MiG-21 LanceR aircraft, announces the Ministry of Defense in Bucharest. The Canadians, in their fifth rotation at Mihail Kogălniceanu Base, will remain there for three months. The Canadian military also carried out a mission in Romania, at the Campia Turzii Base. On Wednesday, the Canadians will officially start the mission in Romania, after the NATO certification ceremony, at the Mihail Kogălniceanu Base. (RADIO ROMANIA NEWS)

Ivan Patzaichin will be buried with military honors

Ivan Patzaichin will be buried tomorrow with military honors, announces the family of the former canoeist. The funeral will take place at 13:00, at the Dinamo Sports Club in the Capital and will be followed by the funeral service at the Bellu Cemetery. Ivan Patzaichin passed away yesterday, at the age of 71. His family wrote a message on his Facebook page announcing that “Ivan has left and is not returning.” (RADIO ROMANIA NEWS)/aboboc
