The Gaudeamus Book Fair in Sibiu has come to an end

The Gaudeamus Book Fair which unfolded in the Romanian city of Sibiu has ended on Sunday, after four days. It was visited by thousands of visitors who came to the book stands in Sibiu’s Grand Square to enjoy the offer from more than 30 publishers present at the fair, with tempting deductions in prices. There were dozens of book launches and students who start classes on Monday were able to find useful materials for schools.

Romania is one of the countries with most important honey producers in Europe

Romania is among the countries with the most important honey producers in Europe, but the domestic consumption is low, according to producers in the county of Salaj. They complain that their activity is also affected by counterfeit products, which contain only an amount of honey of only 10 or 20 percent. Also, producers say that imports from outside the European Union of honey replacements constitute a destructive competition for the Romanian honey. „We are buying honey from China, instead of buying it from our beekeepers, which is not right”, one of the honey producers has told Radio Romania.

Romania has vaccinated almost 180,000 youngster in the 12-19 age category against COVID-19

Almost 180,000 young people in Romania have been vaccinated against COVID-19, with more than 147 fully vaccinated, the National Committee for the Coordination of the Anti-COVID vaccination has announced. Most children and adolescents who received a vaccine are from Bucharest, followed by the counties of Cluj, Iasi, Constanta and Timis.
