Romania has received hundreds of oxygen concentrators from the European Union’s reserve stockpile

Hundreds of oxygen concentrators from the reserve stockpiles of the European Union have arrived in Romania on Monday. The equipment was brought at the National Intervention Center in Ciolpani, from where it is due to be distributed to hospitals in the country, the head of the Emergency Situations Department, Raed Arafat, has said.
Raed Arafat: We needed the oxygen concentrators when we made the call, and Netherlands is the country that had this stockpile. So the Netherlands has first sent us 200 concentrators, under the Civil Protection Mechanism, of course and after it was determined whether there were concentrators elsewhere in order to be donated, the decision was made to offer Romania 350 more concentrators. Therefore, from the RescEU stockpile based in the Netherlands, which belongs or is entirely financed by the European Commission, we have received so far 550 oxygen concentrators.
