Volunteers who offer first aid in emergency situations have been decorated by President Kalus Iohannis

Several volunteers who work in first aid in emergency situations teams have been decorated yesterday by President Klaus Iohannis at Controceni Palace. During the ceremony, the president has appreciated the volunteers’ commitment, solidarity and professionalism and encouraged them to stay involved, motivated and persevering.

Klaus Iohannis: Romania will become the country we desire with the solidary involvement of as many responsible people as possible, people who sacrifice their time and are ready to use their abilities to help others, to reduce marginalization and inequities, to fight poverty and abuse. You have been an important help for the medical personnel who fight to save lives every day, in one of the greatest health crises in history. In the last two years, you have been close to those in need and you have relieved their pain, you have given them hope that this ordeal will be over and they will be able to go home safely.

The chief of state has launched an appeal to all Romanians to unity, hope and courage in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. Vaccination, he highlighted, remains the only efficient way to protect ourselves against the disease.

Another subject on the cabinet meeting’s agenda was the budget for 2022, and the discussions in the coalition will be continued on Wednesday, including on an algorithm to appoint prefects.

President Klaus Iohannis sent a message on The Romanian Constitution Day

On The Romanian Constitution Day, President Klaus Iohannis said, in a message, that he remains strongly dedicated to his constitutional role to keep watch over respecting the fundamental law and the good functioning of the public institutions. The Romanian President highlighted that understanding the Constitution contributes to strengthening the bond between the state and its citizens and invited us to assume an active role in the society, to understand the limits of the powers of the state, to exercise our rights in good faith and to fulfil our duties.
