Save the Children has launched a pilot program on the phenomenon of bullying in Romanian schools

More than three quarters of Romanian students are arguing at school if they make a mistake, according to a Save the Children study. At the same time, 56% of parents said they punish their children in such situations. Centralized data over the past year also show that over 20% of children are exposed to verbal abuse and violent language in the school environment. The Save the Children study shows that pedagogical, critical and punitive methods are detrimental to the active support given to students in the learning and communication process. At the same time, the physical abuse of the child in the family of origin is significantly associated with bullying behavior between children in school. In this context, Save the Children has launched a pilot program to reduce this phenomenon that takes place in Bucharest, Suceava and Calarasi. (RADIO ROMANIA NEWS)
