Dozens of refugees treated at SJU Suceava

85 refugees from Ukraine, more than half of them children, arrived at the Suceava County Emergency Hospital, accusing them of various medical problems, since the beginning of the armed conflict in the neighboring country. According to the hospital’s spokesperson, Dr. Dan Teodorovici, most of the people addressed this weekend, in the Emergency Reception Unit: “42 people have been present since Friday and until today at the Emergency Reception Unit of the County Hospital , 16 adults and 25 children. Of these, 5 adults and 4 children remained hospitalized. We do not have a statistic of diseases, but there are various problems, cardiovascular diseases, urological problems. They can address like any Romanian citizen in the Emergency Reception Unit and depending on the condition they have if it is acute or chronic, it will be decided to hospitalize or treat them at home. ” Also, at SJU Suceava, chemotherapy sessions are performed for patients arriving from Ukraine during this period, being introduced in the National Oncology Program. Patients must obtain an identification number from the Immigration Center and, as far as possible, have medical documents translated into English or Romanian, which must be presented at the Oncology Outpatient Clinic of SJU Suceava, the registration in the National Program being made by the doctors of the ward.
