Iaşi allocates 100,000 lei to help refugees from Cernăuţi and Viniţa

The local advisers in Iaşi have approved today, in an extraordinary meeting, to assign the entire reserve fund of the institution to help refugees form Cernăuţi and Viniţa, that are twinned with Iaşi.

Costel Alexe, the president of the Iaşi County Council, said that the amount is that of 100,000 lei. For now, they have made a partnership with The Emergency Situations Inspectorate, so that the Exhibit Center Moldova Iaşi can be used to store material aid meant for Ukraine.

Costel Alexe: “Most of the reserve fund that we disposed of goes to the two regions, Vişniţa and Cernăuţi. The Iaşi County Council together with ISU will elaborate a way in which our aid to get to the Ukrainian people. Concerning this crisis, unwanted by the entire human society at the level where it got today, I want to say one thing: there is no Ukrainian citizen who arrived in our county and has not been treated as a Romanian citizen. At this moment, the Iaşi County Council, through all its infrastructure and its logistics, gives its support in this humanitarian crisis”
