The eastern Ukrainian city of Sloviansk on Sunday was the target of heavy bombings, which killed and injured many people, the city’s mayor said. A spokeswoman for the regional administration reiterated the call on residents to leave the region, given that the front line is already only a few kilometers from Sloviansk.

Further south, the city of Kramatorsk was hit for the second day in a row by missiles. On Sunday, Russia said it had conquered the eastern Ukrainian city of Lisiciansk and the entire Lugansk region. The occupation of the city of Lisiciansk would allow the Russian army to advance towards Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, both in the Donbas industrial region, which Moscow is trying to conquer.
