Moldova will receive electricity from Romania

Since last night, the Republic of Moldova receives electricity from Romania. The contract has been signed yesterday, as an emergency, by Hidroelectrica and the Moldavian company, Energocom, for 100 MWhs. This is the quantity Moldova lacks, after Ukraine has been forced recently to cut electricity exports because of the Russian bombardments.
The supply of electricity from Romania has been made possible after synchronizing the energetic system of the Republic of Moldova with the European one, in March, as said by vice-prime minister Andrei Spînu, in Chişinău. “Due to the open hearts and the warm support offered by Romania to our citizens we Know that we are not alone and we have a friend that we can count on in emergency situations. We bow to you, Romania! “, said Andrei Spînu. The Republic of Moldova will buy Romanian electricity at a lower price than on the free market, of approximately 90 euro for 1 MWh.

Romania signed, along with other NATO member states, a letter of intent for developing a common air defense shield

NATO member states grow their expenses for defense, given the Russian aggression in Ukraine. Romania is one of the 13 countries of the Alliance, together with Finland, that signed an intent letter to develop a common air defense shield called European Sky Shield. The initiative belongs to Germany, and the European shield could be equipped with the rocket interception system Arrow 3, developed by Israel and with the Patriot American system. Placing some of these anti-missile batteries in several countries allows a complete and efficient defense of the European airspace.
