Sweden will not initiate a vote in the UE Council regarding Romania joining the Schengen area without an agreement from countries that oppose the adherence

Sweden, who holds the semestrial presidency of the European Union Council, has announced that it will not initiate a vote regarding Romania and Bulgaria joining the Schengen area without an agreement from the countries that oppose the adherence. The permanent representative of Sweden at the European Union, Lars Danielsson, said that he has already started bilateral consultations with the involved sides and expressed his hope that the two countries join the area of free movement as soon as possible. In December 2022, Austria and The Netherlands have blocked Romania and Bulgaria from joining the Schengen area. For an agreement in this file all member states have to agree to the adherence.

They stand accused of building an organized crime group, human trafficking and rape. Also, two young women will remain in detention, a former policewoman and Andrew Tates’s girlfriend, both accused of supporting the two in their activities. The two brothers are British, but they had moved to Romania. Andrew Tate, aged 36, had become known on the internet for his misogynistic videos and the wealth he paraded. His brother, Tristan, became known in Romania for his relationships with women in the mundane world.
