About the speakers:
Milen Mitev has served as Director General of BNR since November 2021 and was re-elected in 2024 for a second three-year term. Prior to this, he held several leadership roles within BNR, including Administrative Director and interim Director General. In December 2023, he was elected to the Executive Board of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the first Bulgarian to hold this position and has chaired the EBU Legal & Policy Committee since March 2025.
Robert Schwartz was appointed President Director General of Radio Romania in November 2025 by the Romanian Parliament. He brings over 30 years of experience from Deutsche Welle, where he led the Romanian-language editorial team for two decades. In recognition of his contributions to Romanian-German relations, he was awarded the Order of Cultural Merit (Commander) in 2012.
