By 2020, Romania is expected to build 479 kilometers of highways and 2,400 km of expressways, to receive European funding for major infrastructure projects, according to the General Transport Master Plan, which will be released tomorrow in public debate. The strategic document also includes a proposal to transform the Highway Sibiu – Pitesti in an express way and further work on Bucharest – Danube Channel. The road corridor Bucharest – Sibiu, via Brasov, and not on the Olt Valley became a priority, after it was found that Comarnic-Brasov-Sibiu highway is more advantageous, because it opens the link to Moldova and decongestions Prahova Valley. Romanian National Bank cut the key interest

Unemployment rose in August compared to July

The number of unemployed rose by 3,000 in August compared to July, announced the National Institute of Statistics. The increase is small enough not to influence the percentage of unemployment in Romania at 7.1%, according to the Institute. In the European Union, Romania is ranked 9, according to data provided by the Statistical Office of the European Union. If in Romania has been a slight increase in the number of unemployed in August, with about 3,000, the number of unemployed in the European Union fell by nearly 150,000.
