The Romanian Postal Service has launched a real estate portal, through which the company’s unused properties will be given for rent

The Romanian Postal Service launched yesterday a real estate portal through which 500 unused properties of the company will be given for rent, announced the general director of the state postal operator, Valentin Ştefan. Out of the thousand such spaces, 500 are already rented, and the rest are uploaded on the „imobiliare.posta-romana.ro” portal. Last year the company earned over one million lei monthly from the rental of these spaces. The director of the Romanian Postal Service, Valentin Ştefan, said that, depending on the demand, the prices vary between 8 and 40 euros per square meter.
Valentin Ştefan: There are spaces that I have not been used in any form for years, 10 years, maybe even 20 years. They were simply used for storage. So we take out all these properties, which have different uses, to rent them out. We have some postal subunits that have hundreds of square meters and we need maybe tens of square meters. We have a location in the county where we have two employees in a space of almost 200 square meters. We don’t need that much space, we divide the location into two: 50 meters for the Post Office, 150 meters rented. We have a number of subunits that we have closed. In Baia de Arăma, for example, the space is so run down and it is not profitable for the company to invest, that we decided to close and move elsewhere and then that space enters this circuit of rentals.
