President Klaus Iohannis, on an official visit to France

President Klaus Johannis is in an official visit to France, where he was received by his counterpart in Paris, François Hollande. The bilateral relationship between Romania and France embodied in a strategic partnership develops both around an important political dimension and a very rich sectoral cooperation – said President Klaus Iohannis after the talks at the Elysée Palace with his French counterpart, François Hollande. The two presidents discussed the priorities at European level in countering terrorism, economic developments in the European Union, but also about the situation in Ukraine. Romanian President said that he asked France’s support for Romania’s accession to Schengen, expressing confidence that such a positive decision will be taken as soon as possible. The image of  Romania and that of the Romanian community in France were other topics discussed by the two presidents. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Prime Minister Victor Ponta will pay a visit to Unites States, focused on the economic dimension

Prime Minister Victor Ponta today starts a visit in the United States, focused on the economic dimension. Before leaving, the head of government said that he will explain American businessmen that it is worth investing in Romania. On the first day of the visit, Prime Minister Victor Ponta will meet with the American Secretary of Commerce and representatives of the business environment. The economic dimension of the Romania – United States Strategic Partnership  is at the forefront of discussions, during which Romanian Prime Minister wants to promote investment opportunities in Romania in as many fields, not just the energy sector. In this regard, Victor Ponta asked ministers to remove the bureaucratic barriers, so that the American companies to see in Romania the best place for investment in the region. „I want to show that we are a country where it is worth investing, not only because we are  strategic partners of the United States, but also because we have a law and a system that supports American investments”, said Victor Ponta. Lufthansa German Airlines is interested in operating Brasov-Ghimbav International Airport

The largest German airline, Lufthansa, is interested in operating Brasov-Ghimbav International Airport, after the completion of the work. The announcement was made in Brasov by a representative of the company, during the discussions on this topic with the mayor and county councilors. Another condition put by the investor was that the Romanian authorities to be also involved in this investment. Meanwhile, a partner is wanted at local level to invest in the completion of the work in Brasov-Ghimbav airport and to ensure its operation. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
