Several other Romanian citizens evacuated from Gaza have arrived in the country

Another 14 Romanian citizens and their family members, evacuated from the Gaza Strip, have arrived in Romania this morning, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bucharest. The 14 people entered the territory of Egypt on Saturday through the Rafah border point, from where they were taken over by representatives of the Romanian Embassy in the Arab country. They were accompanied to Cairo, where they were boarded for Romania. So far, over 300 people – Romanian citizens and their family members – have been evacuated from the Gaza Strip.

Romania can be considered a European model for the rights offered to its minorities, Prime Minister Ciolacu says

On National Minorities Day, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu has reminded that Romania can be considered a European model in terms of the rights granted to ethnic groups. Monday marks 30 years since the National Minorities Council was established in Romania. Mr. Ciolacu has also said that minorities in Romania are directly involved in the decision-making in Romanian society by means of their representation in Parliament.
Marcel Ciolacu: We have found understanding and support from the national minorities to solve the challenges we face. That is why, as prime minister, I believe that we must take this collaboration further, especially by continuing economic development projects in areas inhabited by minorities, precisely to ensure opportunities and equal development chances for all Romanian citizens.

People living in several areas of Tulcea County have received a warning message due to the risk of falling debris from drones launched by Russia in Ukraine

On Saturday night, people living in of several communes of Tulcea County received a new RO-ALERT message warning about the risk of falling debris from the airspace, in the context of the war launched by Russia against Ukraine. Citizens were advised to take protection and shelter measures, if needed. According to the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, the structures responsible for the defense of Romania’s territory and NATO have identified possible attacks on some targets in Ukraine in the border area with the Romanian state. Following the RO-ALERT message, however, the ISU dispatch center did not receive any calls to signal the fall of
debris on Romanian territory. Three days ago, a drone used by Russia in the attack on the Ukrainian region of Odesa fell near the border with Romania, in the area of the town of Grindu in Tulcea county, and then the citizens received a similar warning message.
