NAA prosecutors are conducting searches in the city of Brasov

Prosecutors from the National Anticorruption Agency  are conducting multiple searches in the city of Brasov and other neighbouring townships. According to an NAA release, the searches are taking place in public institutions of local interest, in different companies, as well as in houses of some suspects. The NAA action is targeted also against the Local Council of Brasov, on a file regarding public acquisitions, in which the prejudice amounts up to ten million euros.(RADIO ROMÂNIA reports)

High ranking EU officials are visiting Romania today

The Chairman of the Polish Senate, Bogdan Borusewicz, will make today a visit in Bucharest, where he will meet his counterparts from both chambers of the Romanian Parliament, Calin Popescu Tariceanu and Valeriu Zgonea, as well as the Foreign Affairs Minister, Titus Corlatean. During the day, Mr Corlatean will also meet his Czech counterpart, Lubomir Zaoralek, who carries out an official visit in Romania.(RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Multinational military exercise at Galati

Starting from today, Monday, hundreds of troops and vehicles will take part to an international military exercise in the city of Galati. Alongside Romanian troops, representatives of the US and British forces will participate at the exercise that will be organized in the Smardan aiming field. The exercise will last untill the 18-th of October and over 1000 Romanian troops and 400 vehicles, as well as units from USA and Great Britain, will participate. The goal is to increase the level of cooperation between units, by applying NATO specific tactics, techniques and procedures.(RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Important documentary movies festival organized at Sibiu

The documentary „My beloved Phenian” will oficially open, this evening, at Thalia Hall in Sibiu, the most important documentary movie event in Central and Eastern Europe, the Astra Film Festival. The projection will be attended by the Japanese director of the documentary, Yang Yong-hi, who made the movie about her own family, as well as about her father’s decision to send back his sons in North Koreea, due to ideological beliefs. Untill Sunday, more than 120 documentaries from 40 countries will be presented at the Astra Film Festival.(RADIO ROMANIA reports)
