Croatia will be affected by a new heat wave, starting today till Sunday. Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs warns those who want to travel in this country that code red heat alerts for regions Dubrovnik, Rijeka and Split were issued, where temperatures will reach 35 degrees. The rest of Croatian territory is under code orange, or yellow heat alert. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

In Romania, consumption of honey remains the lowest in the European Union. Moreover, beekeepers say, on shops’ shelves
there are plenty of imported honey, surrogate type, although domestic quality production covers the market’s necessities. This year, for instance, Romanian beekeepers have large reserves of acacia honey, which make the prices not to increase. While in European countries such as Holland, Belgium or Germany honey consumption is between 1.5 and 2 kilograms per capita, in Romania the average is below 500 grams per capita. Meteorologists prolonged code orange heat alert for five counties in western Romania

Meteorologists prolonged until tomorrow code orange heat alert for five counties in western Romania and code yellow alert was restricted to certain regions. Thus, in Satu Mare, Bihor, Arad, Timis and Caras-Severin maximum temperature will be 37-38 degrees and the thermal discomfort will be particularly emphasized. The east and center of the country will not be affected by heat tomorrow, but 15 counties and the capital remain under code yellow and temperatures will reach often 35-37 degrees, and isolated 38 degrees. In counties where there is cod orange the authorities have restricted the movements of vehicles weighing more than 7.5 tonnes during the day. The restriction does not aply to the transports of people, live animals and perishable goods and vehicles involved in emergency interventions. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)
