For the first time, Romania will have a national system o air quality prognosis

For the first time, Romania will have a national system of air quality prognosis, the Environment Minister CostelAlexe says. He signed a financing contract of 81 million lei, among which 74 million will be nonrefundable European funds. The system will be accesible from mobile phones, it will be included in TV programmes and will be the only official prognosis in Romania. The national prognosis on air quality for each city will be a result of superposing the national data on emmissions and the daily data on weather evolution and air currents. Until 2023, the prognosis system will be calibratet in three pilot cities: Ploieşti, Braşov and Iaşi. After finalising the project, the system will be applied in the entire country.

More than 80% of the people living in Bucharest say they are satisfied with their city, according to a European Commision report

More than 80% of the inhabitants of Bucharest say they are satisfied with their city, according to a report pubished by the European Commission on life quality in European cities. In most East-European cities the majority of inhabitants saw an improvement of their life quality in the last five years. As far as Romania is concerned, 95% of people living in Cluj and 82% of people living in Bucharest said they are satisfied of their city, compared to a European average of 89%. The report has been based on the results of almost 60.000 interviews in more than 80 European cities and show that, last year, 9 in 10 people have said thay are satisfied with their city.

Those who were part of the opressiveappararus of the Communist regime will not benefit from  the military pension

Those who were part of the apparatus of the Comunist regime, who have committed crimes against humanity and who have been sentenced will not benefit from a military pension, according to a draft lawthat was adopted today by the Deputy Chamber. The initiator of the draft, PNL deputies leader, Florin Roman.

Florin Roman: The present draft law is meant to make justice to the victims of the comunist regime, in the sense that those found guilty for crimes against humanity cannot laugh anymore, with a generous pension in their pocket, in the face of the victims they meet on the street. We make justice for these people, even if late, so that all torturers know they cannot torture another political prisoner in Romania.

The Deputy Chamber is a decisional for in this case and the document will be taken to the Romanian presidentfor promulgation.
