26 children from familiy houses in Ukraine have been accommodated in Brasov

The children arrived in Brasov at the beginning of March. They were accompanied by two companions and their children. They were all taken over by the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection in Brașov and were accommodated in a residential service.

Children have received food, strict necessity goods and are included in as many activities as possible. In the next period, the children in the group will be enrolled in school and preschool education units, the spokesperson of DGASPC Brașov, Lidia Mailat has said: „The children are aged between 3 and 15 years old, are healthy and have arrived safely in Brașov. DGASPC Brașov has provided the group in Ukraine with a Russian-speaking and Ukrainian-speaking volunteer. At the moment, the children and their companions are in a period of accommodation, and what I have noticed is that they are very disciplined and eager to learn as much as possible. These days we have celebrated the birthday of one of the children, with cake, gifts and lots of games”.

DGASPC Brasov has asked the Brasov County Council to cover the costs needed to provide food and accommodation for refugees from Ukraine. The allocation of the money from the County Council budget, respectively 40,000 lei, will be debated in the plenary session on Thursday. The money would cover expenses for 50 refugees.
