Romanian Foreign Ministry condemns the execution of the japanese citizen Kenji Goto by the terrorist organization Islamic State

Romanian Foreign Ministry condemns in the strongest possible terms the execution of the japanese citizen Kenji Goto by the terrorist organization Islamic State. In a statement, Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu stated that terrorist acts committed by the organization  have no justification and those involved in committing such acts must answer before the law. The jihadist group Islamic State posted online a video showing the beheading of the Japanese hostage. The government in Tokyo announced that, according to experts, the recording is most likely authentic. (RADIO ROMANIA reports)

Some of the legislative priorities which the government and the opposition in Romania have in the new parliamentary session

A new electoral law,  personal insolvency law, a new Fiscal Code and simplifing the procedures for parliamentary immunity are some of the legislative priorities which the government and opposition have in the new parliamentary session, which starts today. A day before lawmakers return to work, President of the Chamber of Deputies, Valeriu Zgonea, has sent an open letter to his colleagues, in which warns that the Parliament suffers a shortage of image. President Klaus Johannis will meet with the Senate and Chamber of Deputies leaders

President Klaus Johannis will meet, today, at Cotroceni Palace, with the President of the Senate, Calin Popescu-Tăriceanu and the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Valeriu Zgonea. Also today, concurrently with the start of a new parliamentary session, Prime Minister Victor Ponta will present in the Chamber of Deputies the government’s priorities for the first semester of the year.

Vişeul de Sus, town in Maramures County, celebrates today 650 years of documentary attestation

Viseul de Sus, town in Maramures County, celebrates today 650 years of documentary attestation. On this occasion a symposium and a military parade will be held and at the Heros Monument there will be a memorial and a wreath laying ceremony. The first records of the city are found in the historical diplomas of this town in Maramures County, on February 2nd, 1365. After 1700s, forestry and mining centers of settlers are established in Viseu. Viseul de Sus has the status of tourist village of local interest and it became known for the Vaser Valley and for the steam train known as „Mocanita”. (RADIO ROMANIA reports).
