Blocking the admittance of Romania and Bulgaria in the Schengen area will be discussed in Brussels

In Brussels, chiefs of state and governments in the European Union will talk today about blocking the admittance of Romania and Bulgaria in the Schengen area, according to declarations made before the summit, by the president of the European Council, Charles Michel. He explained that the subject will be discussed unofficially, but he expressed hope that a positive signal will be given. The announcement comes after, yesterday, the Romanian chief of state, Klaus Iohannis, mentioned that he will raise the issue at the meeting of the Council. The Austrian chancellor, Karl Nehammer, defended again, today, the vote of his country against the two countries joining the European area of free circulation. He added that the main cause of the vote is illegal migration, but he declared he is positive about the issue being solved.

Romania on the first place regarding the number of deaths caused by car accidents

Our country finds itself on the first place when talking about deaths in car accidents, according to European statistics. Policemen in Giurgiu district say that the main cause is the speed and draw attention to the fact that number of road accidents this year is 5% higher than last year. And that the number of seriously wounded people in car accidents is almost 40% higher.
Policemen say that there are several causes for the increase. The high speed, not respecting the distance between vehicles, or people on bicycles who don’t respect the rules are just some of the causes.
Tens of thousands of fines have been given this year, thousands of driving licenses revoked so far, for not respecting the rules when driving.

The “Salvamont România” organization has been awarded as one of the best teams of search and rescue using drones, and the prize has been given for the Data Analysis Center, that opened this year, in Târgu Jiu.
