Agriculture in Romania will receive financial support of over 15 billion euros through the National Strategic Plan, for four years

Agriculture in our country benefits from financial support of over 15 billion euros through the National Strategic Plan, valid for the next four years. Part of these European funds will be invested in a new irrigation network, said the minister Petre Daea.
Petre Daea: The Parliament granted 1.5 billion euros for the realization of the 2.6 million hectares of irrigated land, in the period 2023-2027, in such a way that we can amplify the ways of action to be able to realize a surface as large as possible to irrigate. All these ways of concrete action, through the National Strategic Plan, are carried out under the umbrella of climate change, which has become a reality and not a fiction.
Petre Daea also said that the National Strategy for Agriculture also includes measures to support young farmers, in Romania there are approximately 200 thousand under the age of 25.

The Romanian health authorities are considering declaring an epidemic due to the flu

The health authorities in our country could declare a flu epidemic in Romania on Thursday, if the balance of the last three weeks will indicate the need for this measure. The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rafila, told Digi 24 that if this happens, no restrictions will be introduced, but certain measures will be taken at the level of medical units.
Alexandru Rafila: We are waiting for the figures. On Thursday the balance sheet is made. It is very likely that we will have a third week of growth in a row and then this flu epidemic status will be declared. No one should understand that restrictions will be introduced. It is about the measures taken at the level of health units to limit visits to the hospital during the period that this epidemic situation will evolve. On the other hand, the measures related to the observance of the protection measures of the medical staff and patients in the medical units are being intensified, including the use of the mask, the epidemiological screening, in order to avoid that people with respiratory viruses come to work. Anyone with a cold, including children, should not return to the community until after the symptoms disappear, not to pass on the respiratory infection.

Traffic at the border points intensifies during this period

These days, the traffic through the border points could intensify both in the context of the end of the winter holidays, but also of the children’s vacation, which is coming to an end. Additional measures were ordered in Satu Mare, so as to ensure efficient and operative control.
RRA correspondent, Sergiu Podina: In the last days of the winter vacation, the traffic at the border crossing points in Satu Mare county intensified, so that in the following days the border police expect an increase in the traffic values in the direction of the exits from Romania. Re the County Inspectorate of the Satu Mare Border Police, through the spokesperson, Oana Parcalab, we learn that in December 2022, 184,000 people, with over 75,000 means of transport, entered Romania through the Petea border crossing point , and through the Urziceni point, another 30,000 people with over 9,000 means of transport. Most of them have already left or are about to return to Western European countries. In order to ensure effective and operative control at all open border points in Satu Mare county, additional measures were ordered, according to the configuration of the point, six control arteries are available in Petea, on the way out of the country, five of which are intended EU citizens and one is for non-EU citizens.
At the moment there are no particular problems at the border for cars, instead for trucks there are longer waiting times at Calafat and Negru Vodă, for entering the country, and at Nădlac and Isaccea, for exiting the country, according to the Border Police.
