Contracts with a total value of 4 billion lei for electric trains and new locomotives will be signed today and tomorrow at the Ministry of Transport. Today, the Railway Reform Authority signs with the French manufacturer Alstom a contract of 760 million lei European funds for 16 new locomotives that can run at the maximum speed allowed on the rehabilitated lines in Romania of 160 km/h for passenger trains. Tomorrow, a 3.2 billion lei contract is signed with the Polish manufacturer Pesa for 62 short-distance regional electric trains. Regarding the contract for 37 new trains, the first purchased in the last 20 years. The first of them, delivered at the end of last year, is re-entering tests at the Făurei test site, after a malfunction, and could only be put into circulation this summer, if it passes all the compliance tests.

President Klaus Iohannis sent a message today on the occasion of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day in which he emphasizes that the harsh lessons of the Holocaust must be kept in the consciousness of each of us, because only by knowing and understanding history can we prevent its repetition. The head of state emphasizes that recently we are witnessing an alarming increase in anti-Semitic incidents worldwide, and the increasingly visible presence of extremist currents and ideologies in the public space raises serious signs of concern. The Holocaust represents a black page in history, but which must not be forgotten, in order not to repeat his mistakes, says the president of the Senate, the leader of the PNL, Nicolae Ciucă, present at the Coral Temple in Bucharest, where a ceremony took place today, he warned that Romania is not safe from the ascent of extremism, which endangers the democratic system. In this context, Nicolae Ciucă called for unity, against anti-Semitism, xenophobia and any form of discrimination and extremist speech.

The first therapeutic community center in Romania, inaugurated in Târgu Mureş

From today, Romania will have a therapeutic community center in Târgu Mureș. The Social MED association is authorized to provide services through this center for drug users, but also for those with other addictions, such as alcohol or gambling. The president of the association, Ioana Muntean, told Radio Romania Târgu Mureș that those who will arrive at the center can receive support for detoxification and dealcoholization, complete treatments for addictions, rehabilitation and individualized psychological support, in conditions of maximum confidentiality, in a comfortable space , with maximum security and in a quiet area.
