Magistrates decide that Viorel Hrebenciuc will be in remand
The magistrates of the High Court of Cassation and Justice have decided, a little while ago, that Viorel Hrebenciuc is remanded in custody for 30 days, being prosecuted for an illegal forest restitution case. He is charged with six offenses of corruption, including abuse in office and money laundering. The decision is not final.

Over 1,500 people required medical assistance because of drug consumption, last year, the national report presented today by NAA says. According to the document, the most consumed drugs were heroin, methadone, cannabis and psychotropic substances, and the extent of the phenomenon was similar to the previous year. Areas with the highest consumption are Bucharest and Ilfov, Iasi and Cluj, and the risk around major universities and in border regions is quite.
Romanian Post marks profit
The Romanian Post will end the year with a profit of 14 million euros, after a loss of eight million euros in 2013 – Razvan Cotovelea, Minister of Information Society, has announced. The management of the company said that the good results were due to the optimization of costs, stopping waste of materials and attracting new customers. The Romanian Post is, still, to be privatized, and the authorities discuss with the representatives of the Belgian Post, which is interested to take over the Romanian company. The buyer will have to invest about 100 million euros. The Romanian Post insolvency risk has been reduced, if not eliminated, for 2014 and 2015, but the big investments are needed.

About 11 theater performances, exhibitions and book launches are scheduled, today, at the National Theatre Festival. In addition to the three major exhibitions already open, two book launches and much awaited conference by Mrs. Monique Borie, 11 theater performances directed by Sanda Manu, Silviu Purcărete, László Bocsárdi Cristian Pepino, Gábor Tompa Alexander Dabija or Horatiu will be presented.
